22/02/2008 Important Notice regarding Companies House Processing Functions and the Temporary Suspension of Services We are currently undertaking essential work to implement a new Companies House Information Processing System. This is a new system that will replace our old mainframe computer and give us more flexibility to develop our services in the future. As a result the following services will be affected between the period Friday 22nd and Monday 25th February 2008, inclusive.Note - We recommend that customers check this page regularly for any changes to the functions and services On- Line Services
* Please note that documents will be given the date of receipt regardless of when they are processed and appear on the output services. Normal service will resume on Tuesday 26th February 2008. Companies House Information Centres will be open as normal but the following services will be affected
* Same Day Paper Processing of Incorporations, Changes of Name, Re-Registration will resume on Tuesday 26th February 2008. Companies House Contact Centre The Contact Centre will be open as normal on Friday 22nd and Monday 25th. However the following services will be affected
* Software Filing Service
* All processing will cease at 3.00pm on Thursday 21st February 2008. All submissions that continue to be received will be acknowledged and stored. Processing will re-commence on Tuesday 26th February 2008. We have to implement one section of the Companies Act 2006 on 6 April. We concluded that it would be too risky to be trying to implement the new system at the same time. We wanted a decent gap of at least a few weeks. The timescale is tight as it is, but we think that the risks are now manageable. We fully appreciate that it will inconvenience some customers that we will be closed over the 23-25 February period, and we apologise for this. Our main concern is to keep the register running. Our judgement was that we would be putting customer service at risk for a much longer period if we tried to operate all of our services over the "system change weekend" itself.We would like to thank you in advance for your continued co-operation and to apologise for any inconvenience caused to you or your clients.
